The Cherryville Baptist Church was founded in 1849. Since that time the Good News of Jesus Christ has been the center of our life together. We submit ourselves to the authority of the Bible. In all of our worship, study, and fellowship activities we seek to lift up Jesus Christ, and to live out His commandment that we love one another. We are a family of faith, and we covenant together to rejoice with those who rejoice, and to bear one another's burdens. We seek to worship God in Spirit and in Truth, as we share God's love by baptizing and teaching in Jesus'.

Music Director

Searching for a Director of Music

Cherryville Baptist Church is seeking a talented individual who could fill an open position we have for Music Director. This is a part-time position for someone who would oversee the Music Ministry of the Church. Duties include, but are not limited to, providing organ & piano music at each Sunday morning service, performing for seasonal services such as at Easter time, Advent & Christmas, etc. Some services for these holidays are held in the evening. The position includes managing the annual music budget, coordinating rehearsals for all musical groups and special music performances, and managing and growing the current praise band ensemble.

The position also includes maintaining the organ and piano, managing the music library, ordering supplies as needed and providing music program reports for quarterly church business meetings. Compensation to be determined by experience and level of education. Cherryville Baptist Church is a lively, upbeat and musical singing church. We are in search of a new Pastor


We are looking to fill the full-time position of Pastor at Cherryville Baptist Church (founded in 1849) in the heart of Hunterdon County. A small country church in a pastoral setting with roughly 50-80 people in attendance weekly. We are looking for a Pastor led to our congregation by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and God’s guiding hand. Most importantly, the Pastor is someone who, as a disciple of Jesus Christ, will lead others in embracing the life-transforming Lordship of our crucified and risen Savior. The Pastor will lead our congregational ministry, guiding and teaching in line with Biblical truth, our doctrine, and the church covenant. We are interested in an educated, spiritually-guided leader who fits the qualifications as described in Titus and First Timothy. The position as Cherryville Baptist Church’s Pastor would include weekly sermons, teaching Sunday School, Bible Studies, prayer meetings, special sermons (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Lent, Holy Week, Easter, etc.), guiding our Deacons, Trustees, and other board positions, as well as special needs of the congregation such as pre-marital counselling, weddings, funerals, individual visitation, and spiritual care. We do have a Music Director who would love if our new Pastor were musically inclined, but it is not a requirement.
The congregation of Cherryville Baptist Church is strongly devoted to the study of scripture and the commission of evangelism and missions. While not always quick to volunteer in advance, our members do not leave needs unmet. A Pastor coming to our congregation should be aware of our members' love of the Lord and the history of our church. In these times of national and social change, our members stand firm in the triune God who reveals himself through His Word as Creator, Savior, and Advocate; and who desires us to share His love and glory with all around us. We are called to be in this world, but not of it; to set an example to Christians and non-Christians alike to live in line with Biblical teachings.
Salary and benefits will be negotiated commensurate with experience and education. The use of the church parsonage is a huge benefit for a Pastor with a younger family or just looking for the ease of walking to church on Sunday mornings. Please complete the following form.
